Agreena was founded by visionary farmers and fintech-savvies in 2018. What originated as an online commodity trading marketplace has since become one of the first soil carbon certification programmes in the Pan-European landscape. Using a set of core practices, Agreena's platform supports farmers in their transition to regenerative agriculture with the issuance of third-party verified carbon certificates, which can be kept by the farmer or sold onto the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) for offset purposes. Accredited to ISO 14064-2 standard, the AgreenaCarbon programme is based on a yearly harvest cycle, with the data capture process giving farmers the opportunity for payouts each year.
